CRISPR Bacteria Gene Editing Kit

The refill kit came with exactly what I needed in order to reuse the original kit. Clear instructions and over a great kit.

For what I'm doing which is genetically modifying plant DNA for taste and longevity its a good starter kit.

I'm not ready to fully go beyond a controlled environment just yet as it'll take me a bit to learn everything its good place to start with.

Still learning how it works just to use it safely though such that environmental damage does not occur.

I haven't receivend the kit yet, but I'm sure it will meet all my expectations. Thank you!

AMAZING KIT! I got it super quickly. Inside there are Different elements to play with and explanation guide that teaches you how to work with CRISPR even-tough you have never used it before. I am having so much fun experimenting and exploring genome engineering!

We followed the instructions very carefully and got textbook results on the first go. We took the additional step of trying to grow the naive bug on strep agar (negative results). This kit is a great accompaniment to study of CRISPR. A concise summary of the processes needed to assemble this kit might give students a better feel for its elegance (how the template DNA is produced, for example--a lot of work is needed to put a student in a position to do this kit!). That is not a complaint. This is a really great and enlightening product.

This is an amazing intro to science most would feel out of reach. The quality of materials is better than I had expected. Highly recommended

The kit contains everything one needs to CRISPR some e. coli. If adequate pre-lab is done, it is quite understandable to most AP Bio students. Although it looks like a bacterial transformation that they have all done previously, they can understand what the Cas9 and the guide RNA is doing. I do have one recommendation - virtually all the kits I buy are for 8 stations/groups - this one is for 7. Drop some of the easily obtained or nice but unnessary things like gloves, 50 ml measuring device, and the microfuge tube rack, and give me enough of the nucleic acids, media, and bacteria to serve 8 stations.

The kit includes everything you need, with an easy to follow protocol for learning CRISPr. The price speaks for itself. 10/10

Great product

Just finished growing my own DNA edited bacteria in my home office. I come from a microelectronics background so working with precision tools and small amounts of material were natural. Succeeding the first time working with engineering DNA was a true rush. This was a lot of science fun and I can't wait to try another kit from Odin.

The kit was easy to use and a great way to get experience with genetic engineering. There were just a few times where the directions could have a bit more detail, however, they were still sufficient and generally very clear.

The kit is very complete, which is useful for those with no other lab equipment or resources. It is good to see that a perishables replacement kit is now available. I would also like to have the protocols available electronically as a PDF.

As a retired professional in a different science field and having little or no micro/biology training I learned quite a bit with this kit and online tutorials. The folks, especially Peter at "The Odin" were very helpful and professional responding to all my emails with detailed explanations and guidance. I strongly recommend this kit for folks who would like to learn and explore some broad understanding of this astounding technology.

Great kit, worked well!
Please consider making a cheaper replacement kit with just the bacteria, tranformation mix, LB agar, LB Strep/Kan/Ara Agar, LB media, Cas9 plasmid, gRNA, and template DNA. Many of us who want to repeat this experiment in the classroom yearly already have the other materials in our labs and need to watch our budgets.

I received the kit very quickly, within the week I think. Everything was as promised and support was good as well. It worked perfectly and the instructions were helpful and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend ordering from them and will use The Odin for future classroom supply needs.

The kit was easy and very interesting. The only issue was that it could have included more inoculation loops, although there is enough to carry out one experiment, I don't think that there is enough for two or more.

It Works!

I am a high school student who purchased this kit because I had a passion to learn more about biohacking at home, and be involved with genetic engineering independently. This kit was the perfect stepping stool to give me first hand info on CRISPR and the whole process is so easy to understand, everything you need is right there in the kit, just be careful NOT to freeze your E. coli like I did :(

Rand three trials so far and every one was successful.

Shipping took a while, but the kit included all materials including two stickers with the ODIN logo. The experiment was a success - we got a lot of growth on the plates. The only frustration was the protocol was confusing and wordy. I ended up rewriting it so it was more straightforward without the protocols and walkthroughs in the middle of the handout. Otherwise, great kit! Ordered the refill to introduce to the class next term.

I was able to successfully complete this experiment. I am now working on sequencing the before and after bacteria and using the resulting data to drive one of my videos. Thank you Odin.

Okay, it's also kind of the only CRISPR kit on the market right now. But it's nevertheless a wonderful and very simple kit.

I have read a lot about CRISPR, but I didn't know it could be this easy. The kit arrived with everything I needed and the instructions were thorough and easy to understand.
